Four people from Menomonie confirmed dead in Illinois plane crash
RUPIRUPICELLEB - Four people from Menomonie, Wisconsin were killed in a small plane crash in central Illinois on Saturday.
According to the Coles County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened around 10:16 a.m. west of the town of Trilla, which is located 190 miles south of Chicago, or about 55 miles south of Champaign, Illinois.
The Cessna C180G plane made contact with power lines and crashed in a field near the Coles County Memorial Airport in nearby Mattoon, Illinois.
The plane was en route from Nashville, Tennessee.
The victims, two men and two women, are all from Menomonie. Illinois State Police is withholding their identities pending notification of family.
The NTSB is investigating.
